Hands down, my most beloved artwork. I was 30-something weeks pregnant when I created this beauty. This is a pure product of love and nothing but love. For my son.
As an intuitive artist, you often start with a dot and end with a beautiful finished product. I also like to keep my paintings open to interpretation. In this one, you can see, the red cloak represents blood. The pain (physical and mental) endured in labor is inexplicable. Although one cannot miss but notice the sense of calmness and contentment the woman has in her face while she holds her child, probably for the first time. The love is pure, it is real and it is deep. As real as it can get and as deep as it can be. Nothing can take this moment away from her.
Exactly a year ago, I painted this beautiful lady. This is by far, one of my most favorite art pieces. At that time, I was 30-something weeks pregnant with my first child. During that time, I realized the immense power a woman has in the depth of her brave heart, any woman actually. Any woman can move mountains if she wants to. Any woman can break ground if she wants to. She can be as fierce as a tigress and she can be as gentle as water. She is a fighter. She is never on break.
This particular beauty is acrylic on canvas, 16″ x 20″. I call her “Warrior”.
